Paper Smooches Sparks challenge: Hi!

The next card I made using my new Paper Smooches stamps for the Sparks Challenge 15-28 dec. I stretched the challenge a bit, because I wanted to make a springtime card (enough of the winter, haha). I used the colors from the challenge: red, green, brown and white, finished with red glitter.  I stamped a tree using Gently Seasoned (PS) and the bird from My Peeps (PS). I added a piece of green patterned paper to create grass. The patterned paper is from Lime Twist - Life othe Party (My Mind's Eye). The sentiment is from the My Peeps stampset too, stamped in the same brown ink as the three and the bird: Rich Cocoa (Memento).

Lawnscaping Challege #24: Happy Winter Birthday

For the Lawnscaping Challenge #24 Texture I made a non-Christmas card. I used the gorgeous embossing folder of Basic Grey/Sizzix to make the textured white background. The frame was made by using two Nestabillities Labels 1 dies (Spellbinders) on Aqua Must cardstock (PTI). I added some Aqua Mist ribbon and rhinestones. For the centerpiece I stamped two cakes from Bake me a cake (Lawn Fawn). I stamped on a blue patterned paper from Echo Park and added glacing by stamping on white cardstock and adding Diamond Stickles (Ranger). The sentiment is custom made: I stamped the words of the Happy Birhtday sentiment from the same Lawn Fawn stampset separately and added 'winter' in between using Harold ABC (Lawn Fawn).

I really LOVE the result!! Such beautiful winter colors and the glitter in real life is so gorgeous! To finish the cake, I added a lightblue rose from my stash glued on using Glossy Accents (Ranger).

Have a great Christmas!

Make It Monday #44 - Glitter Masking

For the new Make It Monday #44 - Glitter Masking I made my last Christmas card for this year... I already have enough of them! (that's a pity :-P). The task is to create glitter on different areas (ex. by masking parts off). I do not own a Silhouette or any digital cutting machine, so I made a sticker border by hand :)

I used acetate to make a cardbase and I die cut the focal point, using Styled Labels (Sizzix). I stamped some images from the Little Bitty Bird (PTI) stampset. Still love those birds! I colored the tree and birdie with Copic markers. The bird has become a Robin ^-^ (also my boyfriend's name). I put the focal point on sticker paper and cut and edge of 1/8 inch around the border. I added red glitter to the sticky border to create a more Christmas feeling. A few pearls and rhinestones finished the card!

The background is Sheet Music (PTI) stamped in Stazon Cotton White. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Have a nice evening!

You make my life brighter!

My sweetie wanted me to make a card especially for him. "I want an I love you card", he said smiling. So I went to my craft den I spent some time working on this beauty! I used a vanille cardbase, stamped a script background and white embossed it. I used Distress inks to blend a sunset background with yellow, orange, red and pink. I stamped the surfer boy (Greeting farm) and colored him with Copic markers. De sun and sea are patterned papers from Echo Park Yellow and Blue. The sentiment is from Lighten up (There She Goes stamps). I added some Diamond Stickles and a yellow opaque rhinestone for his necklace. Some brads in light blue and dark red finished the project :)

My man loved the card and got tears in his eyes... How adorable!

Crafty Sunday!

I had a lazy sunday full of crafting :-D I made several cards, using different techniques.

I really love the cute snowman (from a Dutch store: Action). I've stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him with Copic markers. The background is stamp with small snowflakes in VersaMark ink and embossed with clear embossingpowder. I used several Distress inks and a blender to create the beautilful background :) (Peeled Paint, Broken China, Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord). The sentiment is Dutch for 'Happy Holidays'. I liked it so much, that I made another one!

The next card is practically the same, but I used different snowflakes and the deer from I Believe stampset (My Mind's Eye). I added Glossy Accents and a red pearl for it's nose and the i on the sentiment. Also a glitter border on the snowy hill.

I also wanted to use my Silver embossing powder to make a classy Christmas cards. I stamped the Sheet Music background (PTI) and a frame from Collaged Expressions (Inkadinkado). I couldn't find a nice sentiment that fitted inside the frame, but luckily I still had some silver stickers, saying 'Merry Christmas party' in Dutch. I pierced 2 holes on either side of the frame and I threaded the silver tinsel through. As a finishing touch I added Glossy Accents on the inside of frame to give it something extra. I used a shimmering silver cardbase to mount to black cardstock on. It's really dazzling in real life! Because it's relatively easy to make, I made another one. You can never have too many Christmas cards! :-D

For this last, small card I used a piece of kraft cardstock laying on my desk. I needed a small card to thank someone. I tried metallic rub-ons on clear embossed leaves, but the effect is not so splashing as I hoped :-) (I will have to look up some tutorial for using them). I used the leaves as trees, added another scrap of cardstock and a sentiment. I stamped a squirrel and acorn in Memento Rich Cocoa and added Glossy Accents afterwards. It turned out to be a cute, small card!

That's it for today, I still have to finish some chores in the house ;-)

Have a nice evening!

Clean, simple and sparkling!

I fell so in love with the sparkling holiday trees by Julie Ebersole on the Hero Arts blog, that I used the card as an example for my own. My remake looks A LOT like the original, because I like it so much :) Thanks, Julie, for the great inspiration!

I've used a green cardbase, black, blue and white cardstock to create the scene and I stamped two trees with light and dark green Colorbox ink. The trees received a layer of glue, which I dispersed evenly with my finger :P and then I covered the in glitter! I adhered them with dimensional adhesive, for more dimension. The snowy hill also got a line of glitter. The sentimement is Dutch for Happy Holidays.

This card is easily made in bulk and it looks great with all the sparkles! I love it, love it, love it! Hahaha! :)

Have a yummy Christmas!

I just made the CUTEST Christmas card ever! Or maybe even the cutest, funniest card ever, haha! I really like the result. I've embossed 3 monsters from the stampset Falling For You (Paper Smooches) in black embossing powder, on patterned paper from Jolly by Golly (Cosmo Cricket). It gives a nice, crisp edge and a pretty shine to the outlines. The mittens are from the same paperpad :) They are got a candy cane, stamped with red ink and traced with a Memento marker Tuxedo Black. A kraft cardbase, extra wide, to fit in a wide envelope I had in my stash. Just added some bakers twine, a red button and an extra candy cane finished the card!

The result is a bunch of Christmas monsters enjoying candy! :-D

This card enters the challenge on the Paper Smooches blog for Christmas cards.
Love those stamps from Paper Smooches! I'd love to have some more :) Should save more money ;)

Let's hang out!

Because it's been a while since I made some cards, so I made another card for the 3-16 November Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, using the bat from Falling For You (Paper Smooches).

All bats are white embossed and one of them is paper pieced. I've added bakers twine and googly eyes to add interest.

Because the bats took quite some space, I decided to add the sentiment on the inside: Let's hang out!

Those eyes make me smile! :-D

Make sure to visit the Paper Smooches website to see all those cute stamps!

Off to bed now! Sleep tight!

Love you to the core

      Inspired by:

For the 3-16 November Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, I've made this window card featuring the stampset Falling For You (Paper Smooches), using the colours navy, peach red and orange.

I've stamped the apple in VersaMark ink onto a piece a Claudine Helmut sticky back canvas and embossed with white embossingpowder.

I coloured the image with Ranger Distress ink in Spicy Marmelade and some Copic markers.

The card base is misted with Mister Huey's Schoolhouse red and I've added some shine to it with Glimmermist. I die cut the window and a frame using Nestabillities and sparkling navy cardstock.

I added the 'Love you to the core' sentiment from the same stampset, cut banner edges and popped it on dimensional adhesive.

As a finishing touch, I added a small sparkling navy heart, to emphasize on the hearts.

Love those Paper Smooches stampsets!!!

PS: It was a little to dark to make pictures, that's why I've deleted the shadowy background :)

It's been a while since my last post... My cat fell off my balcony (6th floor...) and needed surgery. So I've been babysitting him for 2 weeks now. I also got pneumonia after being home again, poor thing. It's finally starting to get better, so I wanted to craft again. (Next thing to do is go to the gym again...).

I have the cutest photo of my two cats, which I wanted to scrap. I was inspired by the ScrapbookStartingPoints of Shimelle Lain: use 4 blocks of patterned paper. I used Claire paper (SEI), with coordinating die-cuts. To create balance in the page, I used the same colors in both groups of embellishments. The page size is letter, that's more common in Holland.

I also made a quick and easy, but still really cute and beautiful card. Last sunday my niece told me that she's expecting a baby and that her boyfriend asked her to marry him. So sweet! So I made this card to congratulate them both! I liked the result so much, that I made a quick second one! The papers used are all pink and brown from Crazy Love (Bo Bunny)

Have a great week!

Make It Monday #27: Custom Copic Striped Ribbon

Just a quick post. We had a great weekend in Belgium, for my birthday. I made a card for the Make it Monday #27, using copic markers to color ribbon. I used Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise card stock (PTI), the Classic butterfly All-over-the-page punch (Martha Stewart) and some sentiments (PTI and Basic Grey). I added some interest with white inks and flowers (after I took the first pictures, I missed something...)

Here's the picture of the 'empty' ones:

When I completed the cards, I thought it would have been nicer to make a pattern of the big and smaller flower before adding the rest. But ah well, that's what paper crafting is all about: it can also be improved, haha!

Have a nice evening!

Paper Smooches July Sparks Challenge III

The last day for entering the July Sparks Challenge from Paper Smooches.  I made two really cute cards today, which I'm really proud of, haha! :-) The first card is in the first post. The second card uses kraft, navy, light blue and orange. It was a challenge for me, because I ussually don't use dark blue :-)

The colors of the second card were a challenge, but I immediately thought of a goldfish and water using these colors. And it turned out really great! I've used paper from Bo Banny Blast Off, matted on navy cardstock. I stamped the fish and sentinemt from Surf and Turf. I added some orange ribbon (used to be white, inked it with orange Distress ink) and a few rhine stones and called it a day. (I'm sorry for the lighting, it was already dark outside... the patterned paper is light blue in real life).

Paper Smooches July Sparks Challenge II

The last day for entering the July Sparks Challenge from Paper Smooches.  I made two really cute cards, which I'm really proud of, haha! :-) I've used two color Cool Shades combinations: white, pink, yellow and chocolate on the first card.

For the first card I've inked the monster (again, haha) from Falling for you with Memento Rich Cocoa and paper pieced it. Now it's a sweet little rosy monster, haha! The paper is Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe. I've used Label One Nestabilities to make the focal point (turned it 45 degrees). I added the Friendship definition to the pink mat to give it some more dimension. The sentiment is from Herro Arts Essential Sayings. As a finishing touch I added some pink ribbon and rhine stones.

See my second post for the other card.

You can buy all the super cute, perfectly clear and crisp Paper Smooches stamps at I have 4 sets now, but I will definitely (save money to) buy some more. And the international shipping is really cheap! LOVE IT!

That's it for me now, time to relax a little before going to bed. Tomorrow my last day of work before having 2 days off. Because of my birthday on August 4th, my boyfriend and I will go on a trip to Paris. I'm so excited!

Paper smooches!

I love the adorable stampsets from Paper Smooches! Such cutes, funny designs :-) The first card I made is for the July Sparks Challenge, using one of the July sketches.
I used the whale from Surf and Turf to create a baby card. I drew a mother whale and a splash with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker and colored them with Copic markers.  The ribbon and sentiment are from Paper Trey Ink. I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and the splash.

The second card is a birthday card for one of my friend, using the monster from Falling for you (Paper Smooches). I inked up his arm to create a second hand to hold the cupcake :) The monster is paper pieced from My Mind's Eye paper.

So happy for you!

I made this card for two friends of mine, who are expecting a baby. They shared their happy news yesterday, and that -ofcourse- deserves a nice, happy card. I'm so happy for them!!!
I've used the sketch of Karen Giron: Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 125. The paper is Fine and Dandy - True Blue (My Mind's Eye), the birds and branch are from Little Bitty Bird (PTI). I've added the perfect sentiment from Basic Grey to show them that I'm really happy :) . I stamped it with blue and yellow ink, then added shadow to the letters with a pencil.  I finished the card with Aqua Mist ribbon (PTI) and some rhinestones.

PS: Did you notice the little, tiny heart in the belly of the smaller bird? ... :-D

Have a great sunday!

Copic coloring!

The last few days I was off - in between my old job and the new job I started today. I've had a few days off to relax, clean the house and ofcourse: get crafty! I've made several cards, with different techniques, and all with Copic markers (recently bought them!). The first cards I made with a single sheet of patterned paper from Lime Twist collection "Fly a kite" (My Minds Eye ), a Beary Special Birthday (Whipper Snapper Designs) stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some glossy accents to the balloons and the nose of the bear for some extra details. The sentiment is from Essential messages (Hero Arts).

The next card features another cute stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs: Triple Threat Kittens. I used a Nestabilities dies to create the card base and the white focal point. After stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, I colored it with copics. Leaving the die in the nestability, I sponged some Distress Ink Broken China and Peeled Paint (Ranger) for the sky and the grass. The ribbon is Spring Moss saddle stitch (PTI). On the photo, the 'C' is missing... I noticed after making the pictures that it was gone, so I put it back before mailing it, but I forgot to make a new picture :-)

The last card of today is made with resist distressing after clear embossing the polka dots on a white standard size card base. I've used several colors of Distress Ink to rub over the embossing: Broken China, Peeled Paint, Dustry Concord, Dried Marigold and Fired Brick. The image is Cocktail Emily (Sparkle Creations) stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. I've stamped a purple tag to match the purple in the upper right corner and embossed it with a sentiment from Hero Arts.

That's it for today! Have a nice evening!

Father's Day

Because today is Father's Day, I wanted to create a masculine card for my dad.
For this card I've used a sketch from Karen Giron: Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 122. The stamp I used is Coco Cat Flowers from Helz Cuppleditch (Stamp A Vie). I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copic markers. I layered the focal image onto a red French Pastry doily (Cheery Lynn Design). The background and banner paper are from Lime Twist "Out of the Blue" (My Minds Eye). I've finished the card off with a sentiment from Valentine's Sayings (Hero Arts) and clear rhine stones (Hero Arts).

Happy Father's Day, dad!
Love ya!
